SIGN Patient Information Booklet for Managing Asthma in Adults
The patient version of Managing Asthma in Adults was published on 27th March. The booklet is for people who have or think they might have asthma or family and carers of someone who has or might have asthma.
This booklet explains the recommendations in the SIGN 153 clinical guideline on asthma, produced by the British Thoracic Society (BTS) and the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN), about how patients can get assessed and diagnosed for asthma and the approaches that can help after diagnosis. It also covers medicines, how you can help control your asthma, asthma attacks, asthma in young people, work-related asthma and where to find out more about asthma.
Managing asthma in children is also due for publication soon.
