Alcohol Brief Interventions
Alcohol Brief Interventions (ABI) are a key element of the Scottish Government’s Alcohol Strategy – ‘Changing Scotland’s Relationship with Alcohol: A Framework for Action’ (2009) and contribute to the overall objective of reducing alcohol-related harm by helping individuals to cut down their drinking.
This document sets out national guidance for the ABI Local Delivery Plan (LDP) standard for 2015 -16. The guidance outlines what should be considered to ensure appropriate planning and delivery of ABIs, and the related reporting requirements for NHS Boards and their Alcohol and Drug Partnership (ADP) partners.
